My trading strategies are not predicated on speed, do I still need Anova’s networks?
Yes. We have found many clients who have migrated to our services see improvements on their strategies’ successes. While it is obvious that clients who do arbitrage call on speed as one of the foundations of their success, clients who trade low frequency can also use speed to better capture profits. For example, news types trades are primarily low frequency, yet do best utilizing low latency. It comes down to the simple fact that once an opportunity has been discovered, it’s best to act expeditiously before others do.
How is the bandwidth allocated and controlled?
We use the Relay, Anova’s patented end-point termination device which is based on the FPGA platform. It enables our system to dedicate a, metaphorically speaking, seat on the bus. This means that never will a client need to wait for their bandwidth. It is always there, waiting for them. This equates to instantaneous transmission – zero queuing on the bit level.
At which exchanges and data centers is Anova’s high-availability wireless accessible?
We’ve currently deployed across the Chicago and New York / New Jersey metro areas. We are in process of deployment internationally in the London and Frankfurt areas, as well as parts of Asia and Russia. Please contact an account executive at [email protected] or 312.540.9594 xt1100 if you have specific routes and exchanges that you need.
I noticed that Anova SLA’s from client-port through client-port, how is that different from other providers?
We measure latency across the entire path, which includes, radios into datacenters and through the end-point termination devices. We don’t just SLA between radios or the physical path leaving our end-point termination devices (switches, FPGA’s), which can add much latency and bog down execution. For a more detailed answer please see our Wireless Latency Defined section.
What are some of the other benefits of Anova’s high-availability wireless system?
Anova’s high availability wireless network utilizes the Celeras LTS, a hybrid laser radio. This system currently enables up to 4Gbs of data transmission, scalable to 10Gbs by Q4 of 2015. With this robust amount of capacity, we can offer clients slices of bandwidth in increments of 10Mbs that best suit their needs. Additionally, clients can buy larger slices of bandwidth, which can equate to a bump down in latency as well.
